REIMAGINING AN AMERICAN ICON: COTTONWOOD'S BOLD CREATIVE FOR THE SCOUT GUIDE PARK CITY + THE WASATCH BACK

On December 2, Cottonwood Millwork, Cabinets + Metalwork proudly launched our first-ever feature in The Scout Guide Park City + the Wasatch Back - Volume 7—we’re introducing ourselves to this luxury community with a creative concept as bold + iconic as the homes we help build.

Since 1982, Cottonwood has grown almost entirely through referral marketing—the most authentic form of growth. Our clients, designers, builders + architects have been our greatest advocates, recommending us because of our elevated service, custom craftsmanship + commitment to excellence. We’ve built our reputation by delivering unforgettable work in some of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Park City + the greater Wasatch Back as well as in luxury communities throughout the Western United States + Cabo.

Now, for the first time, we’re pairing our word-of-mouth success with a strategic placement in a publication that mirrors our standards: The Scout Guide—a curated collection of the region’s finest businesses, makers + creators.

WHY THE SCOUT GUIDE

Our decision to participate in The Scout Guide Park City + the Wasatch Back was driven by values, not volume.

The Scout Guide celebrates businesses who excel in their craft, deliver elevated experiences + contribute to the culture of the communities they serve. This aligns precisely with what Cottonwood brings to luxury homes throughout Park City + beyond: high-end custom cabinetry, architectural millwork + artisan metalwork designed for exceptional living.

I’m excited to partner with Sunny Logsdon, the new owner + publisher of TSG Park City + the Wasatch Back. I’m just a few strides ahead of her as new business owner + I have a tremendous amount of respect + admiration as she boldly begins her journey. Finally, as a woman-owned business, I'm honored to support + collaborate with another female entrepreneur who is elevating storytelling, design + local artistry.

WHAT INSPIRED OUR AD

When working through the creative process we wanted to pay tribute to American Craftsmanship while reimaging it for today’s luxury landscape. We also knew we didn’t want to do a traditional cabinetry ad.

Cottonwood isn’t traditional.

Instead, we created a modern homage to the iconic 1932 photograph “Lunch Atop a Skyscraper”—a historic image that embodies the heart of American craftsmanship + the trades. The photo celebrates grit, skill, courage + the builders of our country. Those values are the foundation of Cottonwood’s work today.

So, we recreated the moment—Cottonwood style.

Rather than hovering above Manhattan, the Cottonwood team recreated this legendary image overlooking:

• The Jordanelle Reservoir
• Deer Valley's East Village
• The Marcella Club, one of the most sought-after luxury communities in Utah

This location isn’t just beautiful—it’s symbolic.

These are the landscapes where our custom cabinetry, luxury millwork + architectural metal details come to life. These are the neighborhoods where Cottonwood’s craftsmanship shapes extraordinary kitchens, bars, bathrooms, wine rooms, mudrooms, bunkrooms, libraries + whole-home millwork packages.

Our recreation is more than a photograph—it’s a statement.

- A statement that the trades are thriving.
- A statement that craftsmanship still matters.
- A statement that high-end custom cabinetry in Park City can be as iconic as the homes it is crafted for.

WHY THIS AD MATTERS

This creative encapsulates everything that sets Cottonwood apart in the Utah luxury home market:
